Sean Michael Jones A World of Tropical Nature Aug 22, 2:10 PM  The Colours of the Tropics Soft hazy light is what you need to create great macro images, so if its hot and sticky your half way there, just finish things off with a cool looking subject like this Heliconia, and a background full of sumptuous Bokeh. An image that I captured on a gorgeous morning at the Lake Park, Kuala Lumpur. #photography #landscape #nature #flowers

NASA's EPIC View of 2017 Eclipse Across America Animation of DSCOVR satellite's observations of moon's shadow on Earth's surface From a million miles out in space, NASA’s Earth Polychromatic Imaging Camera (EPIC) captured 12 natural color images of the moon’s shadow crossing over North America on Aug. 21, 2017. EPIC is aboard NOAA’s Deep Space Climate Observatory (DSCOVR), where it photographs the full sunlit side of Earth every day, giving it a unique view of total solar eclipses. EPIC normally takes about 20 to 22 images of Earth per day, so this animation appears to speed up the progression of the eclipse. Credit: NASA EPIC Team

I am the primary keeper for most of the Zoo’s turtles and tortoises. Turtles and tortoises come in all shapes and sizes, and live in many different environments all over the world. Here at Zoo Atlanta, we have many different species of turtles and tortoises, most of which are considered endangered. These are just a few of the species I am lucky enough to care for! (Left to right, flowerback box turtle, Barbour’s map turtle, spotted turtle, Arakan forest turtle, Mexican box turtle, Burmese star tortoise, impressed tortoise, radiated tortoise, McCord’s box turtle) #TakeoverTuesday – Sara Porter, Keeper I, Herpetology
